Every year ASCE members go to Sacramento and Washington, D.C. for "Fly-Ins" to lobby on behalf of the civil engineering profession. If you've ever wondered what these fly-ins are about or what affect policy has on your career, now is your chance. The Region 9 Government Affairs Committee is currently selecting members to attend this year's legislative activities. If you are interested in participating in this years events, please send a brief statement of interest to Danielle Elkins, the SF YMF representative to the Region 9 committee at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it by January 15th. Those selected will be trained on the latest policy issues related to civil engineering and how to speak to their representatives on January 22nd in Sacramento. Participants will then travel to Sacramento with members from all over California on February 10th to lobby their legislative representatives on behalf of ASCE. Be the voice of your generation and stand up for the future of your profession today! For more information on ASCE Government Affairs activities visit HERE .

ASCE YMF PE EXAM DISCUSSION PANEL
You've signed up for the Spring 2010 Professional Engineers Exam and now it's time to study. But what to study and where to start? The ASCE YMF has all the answers you'll need (or at least get you started on the right foot). Join us on Tuesday, January 12th at Arup in San Francisco or Tuesday, January 26th at Turner in San Jose as we go through what it takes to get prepared for the PE Exam. A panel of past test-takers will be on hand to answer questions and share their experiences with you. They will be discussing a variety of topics ranging from study materials and review courses to the test environment and day-of preparation. Come and learn from people who have been through it. The panel will span the civil engineering field, so no matter what your background is, we'll have you covered.
