Los Vaqueros Reservoir Expansion Design and Construction

The Contra Costa Water District (CCWD) has reached new heights at Los Vaqueros Dam.The dam now sits at the final elevation of 521 feet, 34 feet above the original dam, which increases the reservoir capacity from 100,000 acre-feet to 160,000 acre-feet. Robert Henry, P.E. of Contra Costa Water District will be giving a technical presentation on the design and constructionof the Los Vaqueros Reservoir Expansion.

The Los Vaqueros Reservoir is located near Brentwood and is owned and operated by CCWD. After completing environmental studies with state and federal partners, and finalizing permitting and engineering design, CCWD expanded the reservoir by 60-percent to help ensure high-quality water deliveries to customers, reliability during drought and protections for Delta fisheries and the environment.

Mr. Henry is currently the construction manager for the Contra Costa Water District for the Los Vaqueros Reservoir Expansion Projects (LVE). Mr. Henry was educated at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Robert also successfully completed the Middle River Pump Station for the District, which is a $100 million 250 CFS intake and pump station in the California Delta.  He has 35 years of diverse worldwide experience including nuclear, petrochemical, land development and water infrastructure.
